Fishing

The River Nore rises in Co. Tipperary, flows eastwards then south through Co. Kilkenny, passing through or close to the towns of Durrow, Ballyragget, Kilkenny, Bennettsbridge, Thomastown and Inistioge before joining the River Barrow near New Ross.

The Nore is highly rated as a salmon river with the stretch between Inistioge and Thomastown particularly popular during the season.  Fishing is controlled and a license is required which can be obtained in O’Donnell’s pub.
