Keep Her Lit are delighted to return in 2025 with a new seasonal programme of events following the cycles of the celtic calendar, starting with Lúnasa this August and September. As part of Heritage Week 2025, Keep Her Lit welcomes one and all to a series of events that celebrate our natural and cultural heritage, taking place in the picturesque Inistioge Village. In September, there will be free Strawboy Costume Making workshops throughout the month with local artist Monica Fleming, in preparation for Samhain Celebrations.

Programme Highlights Include:
● 16 August, 1PM – Guardians of the River: Walk and Talk
Guided by Nore Vision, this walk will see river stories, conservation insights, and
community wisdom flow together. Through ritual, story exchange, and a Council of
Waters, we’ll listen to the river as a sentient being, set heartfelt intentions, and
explore collective actions to care for life-giving waters. €5 – Booking via Eventbrite.
● 16 August, 3PM – Heart and Fire: Herbal Medicine Workshop
Join us as we gather in the tradition of the Children’s Fire — a sacred space of
remembrance, healing and renewal. In this workshop we will craft a healing balm for
the heart and connect deeply with the spirit of Hawthorn. €15 – Booking via
Eventbrite.
● 16 August, 6PM – Traditional Music Session and Community Pot Luck Dinner
Traditional music session featuring local and visiting musicians will take place in the
Otter Bar, followed by a community pot luck dinner (vegetarian harvest hotpot). Free
event. All welcome.

 10th, 17th and 24th September, 7-9PM – Strawboy Costume Making Workshops
With the support of Creative Ireland and The Heritage Council, Keep Her Lit has
invited Monica Fleming to lead Strawboy Costume Making workshops that will take
place in Cois Abhainn throughout September.

“We are delighted to be coming out of hibernation to bring some very special events back to Inistioge and the wider Kilkenny region that celebrate our cultural, traditional and natural heritage,” says festival co-founder Jadzia Kaminska. Daughters and co-organisers, Kasia and Liadain, say “following the celtic calendar and seasonal festival cycle feels like the perfect way forward for Keep Her Lit.” Citing the challenges that smaller independent festivals face, the family team took a year out to reflect, rejuvenate and imagine a festival format that worked best for everyone. Keep Her Lit will organise smaller one or two-day events throughout the year, around the county.
