Summer Festival Update

The Inistioge Summer Festival will be held again this year on the June Bank Holiday weekend.  It will be held across 2 days this year with a 3km fun run and 7-a-side soccer competition on Saturday 4th June and the main event in the G.A.A pitch on Sunday 5th June.

The event is held to raise money for the new Community Centre.  This year we have secured Leader funding of €24,000 towards the running costs of the festival and it is supported by the Kilkenny Festival Network.  The plan is to establish the Inistioge Summer Festival as a mainstay of the summer attractions in the South East.  We aim to continually build on the success of this event.

We are at the stage now where we need all the help and support we can get from everyone in the community.  We are holding a meeting on Thursday 5th May at 8.30pm in the school and we would urge you all to attend.  If you can’t make the meeting but are willing to give of your time on either Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June then please contact either Geraldine Brennan on 087 983 3710 or Derville Brennan on 087 779 3755 with your details.

The festival is a great weekend for all the community and we therefore greatly appreciate everyone’s support in making this a successful fun-filled event.
