Athletics Club in Cross Country Championships

Nore Valley Athletic Club had their first competitive outing at the County cross country “B” Championships uneven ages at Grennan, Thomastown on Sunday 23rd of January.

The first event at 11am was the girls U9 400m, Hannah Roche and Anna-Mai Dwan took a bronze medal in this event, a great start to the day.

Next up was the girls U11 800m and Charlotte Hatt and Laoise Woods gave a great performance in this tough race.

The Boys U11 800m saw Jamie Holden, Alex Hatt and James Drea finish well up the field and a great push from Tadhg Harkin, George Murphy and Isaac Wolfe secured the bronze medal for the team.

Isobel Harkin and Isabel Holden competed in the girls U13 and finished 6th and 7th respectively in this tough 1200m race.

The boys U13 1200m saw Shane Molloy and Charlie Dwan finish strongly with Caoimhin Lynch-Perrott and Harry Murphy also performing well to land the gold medal for their team.

Nore Valley had two athletes in the boys U15 2000m, John Marshall taking bronze with Jack Kirwan coming home in fourth place.

Well done to all the athletes for taking part and doing so well in Nore Valley's first event in cross country.
