Inistioge in Bloom 2014 Awards - Winners

Best large garden - Jeremy and Grace Ball, Point Road

Best courtyard/front gardens - Kay Baird, High Street and Chris and Billy Kennedy, 10 Mill Road (Joint Winners)

Best pavement garden - Johanna O’Dowd and Mary Power, Róisín Cottage, High Street

Best contribution to community - Pauline O’Brien, Colmcille’s Well Garden, Hatchery Lane

Best business - Annette & Richard O’Keeffe, Woodstock Arms, The Square

 

Highly commended

Best summer display - Statia Lannon, Hill Crest, High Street

Best use of a small front area - Nuala and Phelim Hamilton, 15 Mill Road

Business - Theresa O’Hanlon, Old School House Café

The external adjudicator also commended  many other well-tended  gardens, small flower beds, the varied and colourful window boxes, containers and hanging baskets, all contributing to Inistioge in Bloom.  The work and commitment by FÁS workers and TT volunteers in maintaining the public amenities areas were also commended as great evidence of community spirit and effort.

Awards will be presented at the Inistioge Tidy Towns meeting in September.  Date to be confirmed.
