ICA members

Founded in 1910 the Irish Country Women’s Association celebrates its centenary this year.

The Inistioge Guild was founded on January 24th 1965, with 26 women. Three of the founding members are still active in the organisation today, they are, Nellie Roche, Gertrude Ross and Margaret Hennessy.

The current membership is 17 and the committee is made up as follows;
President Anne Croke, Secretary Mai Meaney, Treasurer Gertrude Ross, Vice President Margaret Hennessy and P.R.O. Kathleen Treacy.

The meetings of the Inistioge Guild are held the first Tuesday of every month from September to June in the Library.  Locally, the ICA provides a highly regarded service by providing catering for family bereavements. This service is available to all local families and any of the members can be contacted to organise this.

Fundraising whist drives are held twice monthly concluding with a special whist in aid of a chosen charity at the end of the season.

The local ICA takes part in many events nationally and will be actively involved in the centenary celebrations.

There are a vast number of benefits for ICA members and their families, all of these are detailed on our website at www.ica.ie.

We are always delighted to welcome new members, just come along to our meeting on the Tuesday night

The ICA would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and wish every success to the Community/GAA centre committee on their endeavours to provide a much need facility for the community.

Anne Croke President.
