Rower Inistioge Camogie Club, U-16 County Final Winners, 2009

There is a thriving Camogie Club in the area.  The club recently held its AGM and the following is a report of that meeting.

The Rower Inistioge Camogie Club AGM was held with a large attendance in The Rower hall recently. Chairperson Briona Langton welcomed everyone. She said 2009 had been a sucessful year both on and off the field.
Some of the year's achievements were outlined :-

  • Under 10 tournament winners
  • Under 16 Roinn B county final winners
  • Under 18 Roinn C county final winners

The Intermediate team were very unlucky to be defeated by St. Anne's in the county final by a single point after a replay.  Briona also congratulated the following :-

  • Jane Cullen on winning the  Kilkenny Under-16 Camogie Player of the year award.
  • Aine Gannon & Christine Lyng - county Under-14 panel members,
  • Jane Cullen, Aoife Lyng, Kelly Hamilton & Emma Kavanagh - county Under-16 panel members.
  • Ciara Lyng - county Intermediate panel member.
  • Lizzie Lyng on being nominated for an All Star Award.

Congratulations were extended to Lizzie & Eimear Lyng on reaching the senior All Ireland Final and to Briona Langton & Kelly Hamilton on joining the senior county panel.

County Board Reps: Sandra Cullen, Becky Dempsey, Ann & Mary Lyng & Donal Kavanagh.
